Shayla is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s Masters in Social Work Program. They are an advanced practice social worker (APSW) working towards their licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) certification.

 

Shayla has a passion for working with individuals who are a part of the LGBTQIA+ community and/or individuals who come from diverse cultural, racial, and ethnic backgrounds. Shayla is interested in understanding the impact that intersecting identities have on an individuals sense of safety, self, community, societal belonging, and empowerment.

 

Shayla predominately utilizes a strengths-based and affirmative approach to therapy that empowers clients to acknowledge their own resilience and promotes radical self-acceptance. Shayla also draws on skills from various therapeutic methods (i.e CBT, DBT, etc.) in order to best fit the needs of their clients.
